FCL is seeking a well-qualified individual for a paid research opportunity to conduct on-site assessments in your University dining hall. The Survey Research Assistant will work in collaboration with our remote team to help collect qualitative assessments, as well as conduct brief interviews of students and food service staff on campus. This role is semi-flexible around individual studies/work schedules, with required daily availability of around 2-3 hours of lunch/post-lunch data collection. This role will provide real-world experience to a motivated individual with qualitative and quantitative research design, data collection and management, and on-site leadership skills. Qualifications
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. ● Experience or strong interest in conducting surveys.
● Ability to work independently to manage one’s time and meet deadlines.
● Commitment to working collaboratively with a small remote team of motivated individuals.
● Experience with online survey data collection tools such as Google Forms or SurveyMonkey.
● Passionate about engaging diverse (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)) audiences in the climate-smart food movement.
● CITI certification [Social-Behavioral-Educational (SBE)] required
Time, eligibility, and other details
Expected workload | Responsibilities ● Collaborate with the FCL team in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of surveys. ● Be stationed on-site at the dining hall to collect and record data as appropriate to the specific objectives of the study. ● Arrange and conduct interviews, either in person or by online survey in accordance with study objectives, predetermined interview protocol, data collection procedures, and documentation standards. ● Manage, review, and edit data to ensure completeness and accuracy of information; follow up with research subjects to resolve problems or clarify data collected as needed. ● Meet virtually on occasion with the FCL team to review objectives and report on progress. ● Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as needed for the role. |
