Marketing for Theater (Two Elizas- a solo show by Jenny Mercein)

Jenny Mercein, Tulane University

Project Description

I am seeking a research assistant to work on marketing for my upcoming performances of TWO ELIZAS. The show will run in New Orleans and New York City in March of 2026. Primary responsibilities include building a simple yet beautiful website for the show and developing a social media presence for the piece. Pending additional funding/ interest, my research assistant may also accompany me to New York City over spring break to help with the NYC performance. TWO ELIZAS by Jenny Mercein explores the true story of Jenny’s ancestor Eliza Mercein Barry and her landmark 1847 U.S. Supreme Court case, Barry v. Mercein, which established a woman’s right to retain custody of her child. In an emotionally gripping intergenerational reflection on resilience and women’s rights, Jenny mirrors her ancestor with her own trials and tribulations to motherhood.

Project Outcome

Build a simple yet elegant website for Two Elizas, a solo show by Jenny Mercein. Create and post assets on social media to generate interest and excitement for the show. Website will launch no later than January 2026, and social media build momentum Jan-March 2026.
