I am writing a research survey and analysis entitled “Middle English Lyric (1100-1500) for the online Oxford Bibliographies Series. OBS is one of the most authoritative and cited electronic bibliographies currently available to students of literature. The essay will be approximately 30 pp. long (9-10,000 words) and will involved a survey of approximately 150 published sources on the main topic.
30 pp. essay and 150 annotated bibliography entries of approximately 100 words each.
Time, eligibility, and other details
Expected workload | I am seeking an undergraduate assistant to read and write abstracts to half of the annotated items. A template will be provided and the student’s work will subject to review and revision. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about (1) a major and overlooked medieval poetic genre; and (2) the publication process for research in the medieval field with a major, internationally recognized university press (OUP). The workload is negotiable, but will consist of no more than 10 hours/week, beginning as soon as possible during the summer term. |
